There is nothing new to look at in this one. It exists because a widget that isn't working looks identical whether it is running the newest build or a stale one, and on a sideloaded install a stale build is a real possibility: the update may not have applied, or a widget placed before the app was re-signed can keep being served by the previous extension even after the app itself updates. Widgets now print their version and build number whenever they render an empty or locked state, which are exactly the states people photograph when reporting a problem. A screenshot is now enough to tell a genuine bug apart from an install that never actually updated, which should make widget reports far quicker to act on. If your widgets are working, you will never see it.
