With AutoMix on, Repeat One was ignored. Apple's mixing engine is handed the next record well before the end, and that hand-over was built from the queue position rather than the repeat mode — so the next song was inserted behind the one playing and the player advanced to it at the seam. Repeat One now blends the song into its own start, as it always did on the two-deck path, and a hand-over that was already armed comes down the moment you switch AutoMix off or change the repeat mode, instead of playing out under the new setting. Separately, with AutoMix off, the restart itself could hang: the player drops a finished song from its queue, so the rewind pointed at nothing and playback sat silent until a 20-second watchdog reloaded the file. Under Repeat One the finished song now stays in place and restarts at once. A duplicate end notification that could trigger a second restart is also ignored.
